The Issue: Self-Worth

 Does this sound familiar?
“My self-esteem was in the toilet. I had nothing to say that anyone would want to hear. I had nothing to offer that anyone would want. I had NO friends for years because I figured everyone had friends already and didn’t need me. But I functioned well and no one knew.”

The world encourages you to find something you can do well—a career, job, activity, or hobby—which will cause you to have favor with people; and to surround yourself with friends and family members who validate you and value you. In this way, says the world, you will find your self-worth – and your happiness.

The problem is that when you fail or when you are rejected, it really takes a toll on your self-esteem.
If you are an approval addict or you fear rejection, you may wonder why you’re even here. Common side-effects of a poor self-esteem can include isolation, depression, anger, hopelessness, and chemical dependency. Sometimes shame or perfectionism enter the picture.

A poor self-esteem will show in your walk with the Lord, too.

Worship might be surface because you can’t figure out why such an awesome God would care if YOU thought He was worthy of praise—after all, consider the source! Prayer may be non-existent if you have no idea you have authority in Christ. And reading the Bible is ho-hum, if you can’t see the promises!

The Truth: Finding Your Self-Worth

What does God think of you?
Are you desperate for a different perception of yourself?

Are your “ego-boosts” just not working anymore?

Are you ready to exchange your “self-worth issue” for the Truth about you…what God thinks about you?
Look in the WORD OF GOD! The Truth about you and God’s heart for you is revealed on its timeless pages.
“And [your] sins and [your] lawless deeds I will remember no more” | Hebrews 10:17

“Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior.  But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation” | Colossians 1:21, 22

“The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing” | Zephaniah 3:17

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light” | Ephesians 5:8

“’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future’” |  Jeremiah 29:11

Now you can base your self-worth on what God thinks of you instead of what people think of you! And now you can live like it, make decisions like it, and love like it!

You are deeply loved, fully pleasing,
totally forgiven, accepted and complete
IN CHRIST.
